March 1,
2007
Dear Al and Marilyn,
I'm sorry that it has
taken this long to write. Since our
return to Raleigh, our granddaughter has had
a variety of illnesses and we were both hit
with the flu.
For one of the few
times in my life, I could not find the words
to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for
honoring me as the 2007 camp recipient of
the "Spirit of Softball" award. Sharon
has prominently displayed the trophy on the
mantel of our fireplace in our second home
in Raleigh, North Carolina. It
represents the true meaning of Senior
Softball -- friendly competition, team work,
and lasting friendships.
For the past five
years, Sharon and I have enjoyed our
experience at your camp. The fact that
people come back year after year is a
tribute to you. Your hard work and
advanced planning have created something
special for those of us who live and love
the sport of softball. Al and Marilyn,
I will always be deeply indebted to you for
providing such a wonderful opportunity.
Each year I feel mentally like thirty-five
again; perhaps, not physically!!
Plan to see you again
next year and all the wonderful camp friends
we have made through the years.
Sincerely,
Harvey Yonowitz
